TYPES OF CLAIMS

Please note: There is a difference between local and long distance moves in the time frame the customer has to file a claim (local moves- 30 days and long distance moves- 9 months from the date of delivery); however the process is the same.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I FILE A CLAIM?

  1. You notify our office by phone or the movers have a form that they complete during your move. When the movers return to the office, it is sent to Claims department.
  2. We mail out a letter and a claim form (You can alternatively complete the online form here). You have 9 months from the day of your move to file.
  3. Please fill out all of the sections, because we offer different valuations, when resolving your claims: The age, weight, or cost of the item is taken into consideration. This is based on the valuation you, or the company where you are employed, selected.
  4. Mail or fax the form (or complete the online for here) as soon as possible.
  5. We pull all of your paperwork and make a file.
  6. Then, we investigate by talking to you, the movers, and review your paperwork.
  7. We send someone out to do an inspection or to make necessary repairs. I  some cases, we ask you to provide us with an estimate for repairs. Please do not make repairs without informing us before we investigate. Never dispose of damaged items you are  claiming before we investigate.
  8. After repairs are made, we then cash-out for replacements, missing and appearance allowance.
  9. We send you a letter, and check to bring closure to your claim.
